  6. She completed her MBBS from Bharti Vidyapeeth Medical College (Pune)

  7. She did her Masters in General Surgery from Padmashree Dr D.Y. Patil Medical College & Hospital, Navi Mumbai

  8. She had a keen interest in women's health and breast diseases, hence specialised in breast surgical oncology by doing a fellowship in breast surgery at the reputed Tata memorial hospital, Mumbai.

  9. She also did a professional diploma in clinical research (PDCR)

  10. She is awarded the degree of FAIS (FELLOW OF ASSOCIATION OF SURGEONS OF INDIA) at ASICON 2019 at Bhubaneswar

  11. To further her skills, she did a certification course from ESSO ( EUROPEAN SOCIETY OF SURGICAL ONCOLOGY) in oncoplastic breast surgeries

She has a keen interest in spreading awareness about Breast cancer in general population, hence regularly conducts various awareness lectures as well as various health check up camps.

She also participates in various CMEs for continued education of her peer.

What is Breast Cancer

  • Breast cancer is an abnormal uncontrolled cell growth arising in the breast tissue.

  • Breast cancer begins in the milk-producing glands (lobules) or in the passages that drain milk from the lobule to the nipple (ducts).

  • Breast cancer is the most common cancer to occur in female worldwide.

  • Breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths in females.

  • In  India incidence of breast cancer is rising alarmingly.

Impact of Breast Cancer in India?

  • More than a Lakh women are diagnosed with breast cancer every year (as per the National Cancer Registry). Increasing incidence in the younger age group.

  • There is a lack of awareness and screening in our country.

  • Late consultation with doctor decreases long term survival of the patient.

  • 60%  of patient present in advance stages with a survival rate of less than 15%.

  • If the disease is detected early, it increases the survival rate by 90%.
